Privacy Policy - Savvant App
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Savvant (the “App”) handles information when you use it. In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Savvant.
Savvant is a reading and learning app. Most core features can be used without creating an account.
1. Information We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of information:
A. Information stored on your device
Savvant stores certain app data locally on your device to provide core functionality, such as:
- onboarding completion status
- theme, font, accessibility, and display preferences
- app language and discovery language preferences
- preferred topics
- reading history and completed discoveries
- saved items, liked items, and quiz progress
- daily goal, completion, and streak data
- scheduled reading reminder preferences and reminder times
- selected age group
- audio playback preferences
- local feedback records and feedback prompt preferences
- local account state, if you choose to sign in with Apple
This information is typically stored locally using Apple-provided device storage such as UserDefaults.
B. User preferences sent to our backend
To help us understand and improve the learning experience, Savvant may send certain preference information to a configured backend system, including:
- a device-generated identifier
- selected age group
- favorite topics
- whether surprise topics are enabled
- surprise topic count
- app or discovery language code
- the time the preferences were updated
This information is used to understand aggregate topic interest, age-group distribution, language usage, and feature preferences. It helps us improve content selection and app experience.
The device-generated identifier is created by the app and is used to distinguish one app installation from another. It is not your Apple ID, email address, phone number, or advertising identifier.
C. Optional discovery feedback you submit
Savvant includes an optional feedback feature for discoveries. If you choose to submit feedback, the app may send the following information to a configured backend:
- a device-generated identifier
- discovery ID
- discovery title
- topic
- language code
- your feedback vote, such as thumbs up or thumbs down
- selected feedback reasons, if any
- optional custom feedback text, if you provide it
- the time the feedback was created or updated
This information is used to review feedback, understand which discoveries are helpful, identify content that may need improvement, and improve discovery quality.
If feedback submission is not configured, or if you do not submit feedback, this feedback information is not sent.
D. Optional subject suggestions you submit
Savvant may allow you to suggest discovery subjects or topics. If you submit a suggestion, the app may send information such as:
- a device-generated identifier
- current topic
- selected topic, if applicable
- search query, if applicable
- suggestion text
- language code
- the time the suggestion was created
This information is used to understand what users want to learn about and to improve or expand available content.
E. Sign in with Apple information
Savvant may allow you to sign in with Apple.
If you choose to do so, we may receive certain information from Apple depending on your settings and Apple’s response, such as:
- a unique Apple user identifier
- your email address, if provided
- your name or display name, if provided
Based on the current app behavior, this information is used to recognize your signed-in state and support account-related functionality inside the app. We may also use it to check whether your Apple sign-in credential remains valid.
Apple may also process your information under Apple’s own privacy policies.
F. Subscription and purchase information
If you purchase Premium, subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit.
We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide limited subscription-related information needed for the app to determine access status, such as:
- whether you have an active subscription
- which subscription product is active
- renewal or expiration timing
- whether an introductory trial is active
- whether auto-renew is enabled
G. Notifications
If you allow notifications, Savvant may schedule local notifications for reading reminders, quiz reminders, streaks, or goal-related prompts.
These reminders are generated using information stored on your device. Notification permissions are controlled by you in iOS Settings. Delivery may rely on Apple’s notification services.
H. External links you choose to open
Some discoveries may include source links. If you tap a source, Savvant may open the linked website or document using Apple system features. Your interactions with third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Savvant does not intentionally require or request:
- your phone number
- mailing address
- contacts
- photos

- advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
Savvant also does not require account registration for ordinary use of the app.

4. Aggregated Statistics and Internal Analysis
We may use backend data to create aggregate statistics, such as:
- number of thumbs up or thumbs down per topic or discovery
- number of users who selected each favorite topic
- number of users in each selected age group
- language distribution
- subject suggestion trends
These statistics are used for internal analysis, content planning, quality review, and product improvement. Where possible, these statistics are reviewed in aggregated form rather than as individual user records.
We may export or connect these statistics to internal tools such as spreadsheets, dashboards or similar reporting tools. These exports are used for internal business and product analysis.
5. Legal Bases and App Store Context (GDPR)
If you are in a region where legal bases are required, we generally rely on:

7. Data Retention
Locally stored app data remains on your device until:
- you delete it in the app, if that option is available
- you reset relevant settings or data
- you delete the app from your device
If you sign in with Apple, locally stored account information may remain on your device until you sign out, reset app data, or delete the app.
Feedback records, preference records, and subject suggestions submitted to a backend may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to review feedback, improve content quality, create internal statistics, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
8. Artificial Intelligence Use
Savvant may use artificial intelligence to assist in generating, improving, or structuring certain content and quiz experiences in the app. AI-assisted content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or simplified explanations.
Any information processed in connection with such features is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We do not use user personal information to train general-purpose third-party AI models unless expressly disclosed separately and permitted by applicable law.
